Sleepy CIO Allowing Crooks To Dine With ED - Mliswa

Norton legislator (independent), Temba Mliswa claims Zimbabwe’s Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) is failing to diligently execute its duties and responsibilities resulting in corrupt people getting closer to president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Mliswa said the security officers are not vetting enough the people who come to the president which in the end tarnishes the name of the president as he is seen in the company of corrupt people.

Mliswa claims that despite the association with perceived corrupt people, the president was a very clean and no-nonsense person. He said:

People name-drop, I have told you I am related to the president, I was arrested several times when he was Minister of Justice. I was detained, I was denied bail, it is evident that he does not at all stand for anything which is not proper and we must help him.

People are name-dropping too much; you see them at state occasions, and you see them taking pictures with the president.

The president is a president of the people and he can have a picture taken with anyone but they then go and lie they have been given authority…if you look at the Drax deals, it is somebody just being seen with the first family and using that.

This is where the CIO is finished, they could not have allowed Nguwaya to get close to the president if they had done proper vetting, but they are compromised.

He added that if thorough vetting which was being done during the reign of the late former President Robert Mugabe was being done, criminals would not get close to the president.

His remarks come after the first family has been implicated in a number of underhand dealings including the Draxgate scandal which involves the abuse of millions of COVID-19 funds after pictures of involved people standing with the first family made rounds on social media.
